Saturday, April 15th, few days after the arrival of new students in our japanese language school (Shinjuku Nihongo Gakko), a welcoming event was organized at Okutama. 28 students participated in this excursion and enjoyed hiking and barbecue.

While Hanami (Cherry blossoming) season was over in Tokyo last weekend, Okutama’s sakura were in full bloom. All along the 3km hiking course, the participants enjoyed the beautiful spectacle.

After the hiking, barbecue party was held under the full-blossoming sakura. Students prepared yakisobas, mentaiko rice balls, steaks, onigiris and roasted marshmallows…
