On Friday, July 24, we conducted a “Mount Fuji Bus Field Trip.”

Approximately 700 students participated in the event, departing for Yamanashi Prefecture split across a total of 14 large buses.

Our first destination was Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nenba, a village lined with thatched-roof houses from the Edo period.

Within this picturesque settlement, there were exhibition centers and museums displaying traditional crafts, and the students were captivated by Japan’s traditional culture. It was truly memorable to see them so eagerly pointing their cameras at the classic Japanese scenery.

Next, we visited the Fujisan Museum.

Inside, students learned about Mount Fuji’s long history and its precious cultural artifacts.

Although we were unable to view Mount Fuji from the rooftop observation deck due to the weather conditions, the students enjoyed exploring the exhibits and taking photos with their friends, having a wonderful time.

Our final stop was Oshino Hakkai, where we viewed crystal-clear ponds fed by Mount Fuji’s melting snow.

Surrounded by numerous food stalls and shops, students made the most of their time by enjoying local street food and shopping for souvenirs.

While the weather had been a concern, we were fortunate enough to complete the day’s itinerary safely without encountering heavy rain.

Although some schedule adjustments were necessary along the way, every student was punctual and gathered quickly, allowing us to finish the day smoothly and right on schedule.

It was a fantastic field trip that allowed students to connect with nature and culture while deepening their understanding of Japanese history.
