On December 6, “the 64th Japanese Speech Contest for Foreign Residents” was held, and from our school, Ms. Adé (PETIT ADELAIDE JACKY FRANCOISE) from France participated.
This contest aims to encourage participants to reflect together on Japan and the international community.

For this event, Ms. Adé delivered a speech on the theme “My Strategy for Mastering Japanese.”
She introduced a unique study method—using puns to memorize commonly confusing Japanese homophones—sharing her own experiences in an engaging and enjoyable way.
Using examples such as “Futon ga futtonda” (“The futon blew away”) and “Shujin ka shūjin” (“Husband or prisoner”), her speech drew frequent laughter from the audience and created a warm, friendly atmosphere.

As a result of the judging, Ms. Adé won two awards: the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award and the Audience Jury Award.
This achievement reflects not only her continuous hard work, but also the dedicated support of the faculty members who guided her.
We look forward to seeing even greater accomplishments from Ms. Adé in the future.
