On August 29, 2025, the Advanced Level 2 class held their project presentations.
The theme for this class was “From the Present to the Future: Understanding Social Issues in Japan.”

The students introduced topics such as Japan’s declining population and differences in manners between men and women, each from their own perspectives. The class had a warm and friendly atmosphere, and during the Q&A session, many students actively participated.

One particularly memorable topic was “the many first-person pronouns in Japanese and the differences in how men and women speak.” The students compared this with their own languages, exchanging interesting observations such as, “In English and French, there’s no difference in pronouns, but slang is more often used by men,” and “In Taiwanese, written language reflects gender differences.” This discussion deepened their understanding of uniquely Japanese expressions.

They also explained, from a social issue perspective, that while gender differences exist in Japan, modern times are bringing gradual changes.
Between presentations, a student MC helped liven up the class, showcasing the friendly relationship between teachers and students.

Through this presentation, the students were able to consider Japanese social issues from their own viewpoints and gain a deeper understanding by comparing them with other cultures. The way they listened to and respected each other’s opinions made the session not only educational but also a meaningful moment that strengthened the bonds within the class.
