Advanced Level 1 Students Present Radio Dramas

On December 16, 2025, students from the Advanced Level 1 class held their project presentations.

The theme of this project was Radio Drama. Working in groups, the students created original stories and took on the challenge of expressing entire worlds using sound alone.

Despite the limited preparation time, the students were responsible for every aspect of the production, from structuring the script and developing characters to creating sound effects and selecting background music. Through active discussion and repeated trial and error, the process of completing each piece became a valuable learning experience in itself.

The first group presented a drama titled “The Teacher Is Coming.”
Carefully crafted sound effects, such as footsteps echoing through the corridor and the sound of a door opening, left a strong impression and naturally brought the school setting to life. Many other creative techniques were used to paint vivid scenes through sound, fully showcasing the unique appeal of radio drama.

Next came a piece titled “A Strange Encounter at an Izakaya.”

Although the title suggests a calm and ordinary story, the drama unfolded with a series of unexpected and humorous twists, filling the classroom with laughter throughout the performance. The well-paced dialogue, effective use of pauses, and distinctive way the key character spoke clearly reflected a structure carefully designed with the audience in mind.

The presentations continued, with each group showcasing a radio drama full of individuality.
Emotional performances, surprising story developments, and well-crafted structures all demonstrated the time and effort each group had invested in their work. In addition to individual practice, many groups showed strong teamwork, highlighting how seriously and enthusiastically the students had prepared for this project.

Not only the presenters but also the audience remained fully engaged, listening attentively to each performance and reacting with surprise and laughter at different moments, a scene that left a lasting impression.

By taking on the challenge of conveying stories through words and sound alone, the students were able to fully express their creativity, making this project presentation both meaningful and rewarding.
